A New Live Coaching TeleConference Series

Integral Coaching and the Enneagram

James Flaherty of New Ventures West has created a methodology called Integral Coaching for catalyzing adult development by attending to all parts of ourselves with kindness, skill, and presence. Con-currently, Russ Hudson and Don Riso have brought great clarity and precision to the Enneagram in their groundbreaking books and worldwide Trainings. Among several critical distinctions in their work, they have clearly laid out the nine Levels of Development for each Enneagram type, which have profound implications for coaching.

James, Russ, and Don conducted their first 11-session TeleConference Series together throughout 2007. They discovered that the Riso-Hudson Enneagram (Insight Approach^sm) and Integral Coaching^sm, blend well together forming a powerful platform for human development. From the feedback we received, we found that participants expressed appreciation for the variety of views and insights the three different teachers brought to each type call in the series. The three teachers, as well as the participants, found that the two-hour sessions were lively conversations that were both informative and stimulating. James, Russ, and Don had a great time working with each other and found that the two systems have much common ground, so they are eager to take this to the next step by offering real-time coaching of each type as the centerpiece of this new series.

The Format of this New Series

We’re inviting you to join us for an 11-session TeleConference Series dedicated to cultivating your capacity to develop others by using the Riso-Hudson Enneagram and Integral Coaching. The focus of each call will be a live coaching session conducted by James, Russ, or Don. We’ll pre-select clients of different Enneatypes and with a wide variety of presenting topics.

The first 2-hour session will be an overview of the whole series, with a chance to revisit the key elements we will be using throughout the rest of the course, including the main principles of Integral Coaching and Riso-Hudson Enneagram theory. Then there will be nine 2-hour sessions, one per type, beginning with Type Eight, The Challenger. There will also be a bonus, free 11th session, during which participants can check in with the three leaders on how their coaching with the Enneagram has been going, ask questions, and brainstorm how to further the insights that have occurred during the series.

The layout of each Type Call will be:

• 30 minute introductory review of the Enneagram type’s strengths and liabilities by the three teachers  
• 30-45 minute live coaching session conducted by one of the three teachers
• 15-20 minute debrief with the client
• 30 minute electronic Q&A from participants directed to client, coach, and teachers

Over the 11-session series, we hope to demonstrate, evolve, and deepen this new application combining Integral Coaching and the Enneagram. As a participant, you will be able to listen in and interact live electronically, review the class later on our website via mp3 audio recordings, or do both. Your ability to meet clients where they are, to synthesize observations, and to work deeply and directly with clients will all be profoundly enhanced by participating in this next step of our educational collaboration.

Specifics

This particular TeleConference Series will likely not be repeated for a few years, as we plan to develop a full Training next. Participation in this TeleConference Series will be limited to 100. We recommend that participants have sufficient background* in both Integral Coaching and the Enneagram, as basics about coaching and the Enneagram will be assumed in the conversations. You need not have participated in the first TeleConference Series in order to join us on this one.

Dates and Times
The series of 11 TeleConference calls will take place on a bridge line from 3 to 5 pm Eastern Time (Noon to 2 pm Pacific, 8 to 10 pm GMT). Calls will be recorded; if you miss a call, you can listen to it during the duration of the series from a password-protected link on our website. Call dates (which are on Wednesdays and Mondays) are scheduled as follows:

How to Register
Cost for the series is $995 or $895 for those who attended our first TeleConference Series in 2007. A nonrefundable deposit of $250 will hold your place.

Balance and Cancellation Policy
The balance of $745 (or $645) is due May 1. Once you register, the deposit is nonrefundable. If you withdraw from the course before May 1, no further payment is due. After May 1, the full balance is due, whether or not you attend all the sessions.

*The Fine Print
By background in coaching we mean having taken classes at New Ventures West, or at a minimum, reading James’s book, Coaching—Evoking Excellence in Others. By background in the Enneagram, we mean having taken classes offered by The Enneagram Institute, or at a minimum, reading The Wisdom of the Enneagram or Personality Types by Don and Russ.
